1. 2026-07-25

   The background-runtime proposal was retired

   • Pace kept the existing companion plan as the product authority instead of adding a second, overlapping runtime.
   • Any future background-work expansion now starts from current shipped behavior and a fresh bounded change.
2. 2026-07-13

   Always-On Companion Mode reached an opt-in milestone

   • Pace gained local camera, taught-object, screen, Mac-context, and pre-speech wake sources with conservative retention rules.
   • Silent cards and spoken interventions remain separate, default-off choices and re-check restraint before acting.
3. 2026-07-12

   Codex became a first-class planner option

   • Users can select Codex or Claude as an off-device planner under the same explicit consent, audit, and amber-indicator contract.
   • The Models screen now explains planner memory cost and recommends the largest local vision model that fits.
4. 2026-07-06

   Meeting notes became adaptive and source-grounded

   • Bundled and user-defined meeting profiles can shape notes while the general profile preserves the earlier output.
   • Action items link back to transcript quotes and timestamps so users can verify where each commitment came from.
